Blogging Again...

Well it certainly has been a long time since I last blogged...lots have changed, got a job, moved to Montgomery and experiencing life as a young twentysomething on my own. It's definitely been a big change, but a good change. I decided to start my blog again (ha how many times have I said that) but this time I'm going to blog about something I truly love and care about: music.

Music has the power to get into your deepest, darkest emotions. It can bring people togehter. It can pump you up for a night out, or give you solace when going through a difficult time. Whatever the occasion, there's a song out there somewhere for it. My favorite thing is finding a song and being mesmerized by the music, it's a feeling I can't explain, but when I have that, I know I've found a song I will remember for the rest of my life.

So I've decided to blog about a song every week. Whatever my favorite song is in that moment, new, or old, and explain why that song means what it does to me.

So this week's song is....drumroll please...
"Back to Decebmer" by Taylor Swift.
I picked this song because like every other Taylor song, it tells a story. The story about someone regretting letting someone go. She's an amazing songwriter, you can feel the emotion in the song, and the music behind it is awesome as well. I can listen to this song ten times in a row and not get tired of it. She has a lot of naysayers out there, but I think her fans ("Speak Now" sold over a million copies in its first week of release I do believe, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) FAR outnumber them.

A song you may not have heard of...until now:
"Like the Rose" by B*Witched.
"Who is B*Witched?" you may ask...well if you were a teeny bopper around 1999, you probably remember them as the four Irish girls that had the hit song "C'est La Vie" and was on heavy rotation on the Disney Channel. I was a fan, and bought their CD (their first one) and "Like the Rose" is probably my favorite song on it. It's got a pretty melody, great music, and tells a story. Another song you can feel the emotion on and I love the piano on it. Look it up on youtube, it's a great song that I still listen to today.

These are two of the songs that are on heavy play on my iPod right now, stay tuned each week for more songs! Also going to start yoga again soon, so my trials and tribulations with that will also be a topic of the blog :)

Vacation 2010!!!

I am in the middle of a wonderful graduation trip in Sarasota, Florida. The boyfriend is from here, so I decided to make the trip down with him for a visit. And it is awesome! This city is every (or most) girl's dream...beach within 10 minutes, and a mall within the same distance...plus lots of other cool things to do. Siesta Key beach is fabulous...the water is gorgeous and there is sand for miles. If you're looking for a wonderful place to beach and shop, but don't want to be in the craziness of Panama City, Sarasota is the place for you. It is a long drive (8 hours from Troy) but it is totally worth it. Getting here was quite the struggle with the car air conditioning going in the last two hours of the trip and sweating like big fat pigs, but like I said, totally worth it. Having a blast so far and I will post updates later :)

Well it only took me a month...

...but I am keeping up with my blog! This summer has been an intersting one, and quite productive, with an internship, and trying to keep up with all the trashy reality tv. so does it really suprise you that one of the real housewives is apparently broke? Not me! People are so concerned with their image on TV (or even not on TV) and they pretend to be something they're not...this is definitely dangerous if you don't thave money and pretend to be millionaires. Moral of the story...be yourself. Don't try so hard to be something you're not that you mess yourself up even more in the end. If you can't be someone, don't try. Well that's my short update for now, I may add on to it or even totally do something new. We shall see.

I promise this time...

To keep up with my blog! Started a blog about two years ago, rarely posted on it, then thought I would do a blog about yoga a few months back, and never found the time to do it. So this summer, I'm going to try to blog at least a few times a week about just whatever...work, internships, and maybe even do a little yoga. When I'm not interning, I'm going to try to get in the gym...gaining some weight, and of course I just want to look good :) But anyway, here's to having some fun with blogging!

I Had an Epiphany...

So I have been thinking for a long time what I should write a blog about. Finally it came to me today. A few semesters ago, I took a yoga class at school. It was the first semester they were offering it, and I had always been interested in doing it, so I figured I'd try it. If nothing else, it would be an easy A. So I took it, and really liked it. I was going to keep doing it even after the class, but I didn't. I've been thinking on and off about starting back, and today I finally realized that I could do it and then blog about it. I hope to start one day this week, maybe Sunday, and do yoga exercises at least twice a week. I'll then blog about how I felt before, how I felt after, and if it has made an overall effect on my mood and well-being. Hopefully this will turn out to be a good blog that will entertain and make people want to read and keep up, and maybe try yoga as well for themselves. I'll post again when I do my first workout!

Namaste!

2010 already??!!?

wow, it's hard to believe this year is over. 2009 was definitely a rocky year, but also a fun year. became a senior in college, moved back home after a year of living on my own, my brother started college, and i turned 22, which is the official "i'm getting old" age lol. but 2010 should bring about great things as well. this will be the biggest transition year of my life. graduating college, moving away from troy for the first time, being in the "real world." can't believe these four years are already about over. i can remember the first day of my freshman year. wow....well here's hoping 2010 is a great year! it's a little scary knowing all that will be coming, but exciting all at the same time.
